The Four Wordsmen Of The Apostrophe formed in 2012 when Rob Stepney invited three fellow poets, John Lanyon, Adrian Lancini and Edward Fenton, to join him in publishing a book of their poetry, prose and stories.

Graphic designer Adrian was given free rein to interpret the pieces using witty typograghy and graphic illustration and A Funny Way With Words was born.

Described by the Sunday Telegraph as 'A jolly collection of squibs', the book inspired a show starring the four authors, hosted by radio announcer Kathy Clugston and featuring musicians Shannon Harris and Alan Fraser.

The quartet's love of performing live spawned further shows, including the innovative Poetry on Tap which has featured at many festivals.

A second collection Words Go Out to Play was published in 2018.
